Fruitful even during affliction

"And the name of the second he called Ephraim: 'For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.'"

Genesis 41:52

Reflect

Joseph faced a lot of opposition, but that never stopped him from prospering and living out his God-given purpose. Scripture tells us that Joseph had favor with God. Whether he was a servant in Potiphar’s house or a prisoner, Joseph was put in charge of those around him. After correctly interpreting Pharaoh's dream when no one else could, Joseph was promoted from slave to second in charge over all of Egypt. Talk about an amazing story of redemption! During trials and hardship, it is tempting to simply endure, but we can do so much more than that. With the help of God, we can prosper! There will be good days and bad days, but if you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, you too can be fruitful in the land of your affliction. If He redeemed Joseph and brought restoration to his life, He will do the same for you!

How does Joseph’s experience encourage you as you face trials and difficulties?
